In this blog, I will give you the first few steps on how to earn money with wifi, and laptop and your skills as a virtual assistant.
What’s a virtual assistant?

It’s pretty straight-forward. A virtual assistant is a person the works virtually to assist clients with various tasks. Think of “doers”. You do email management, you do client support, you do research, you do marketing support. There are various ways you can support your clients by leveraging the current skills as a virtual assistant.
Who can be a virtual assistant?

Literally anyone. You don’t need education, certain years of experience, a specific background. But if you learn these three things, you will succeed:
- Dedication to the long-game. There is no such thing as overnight success (in general) but especially in the virtual assistant world. Make a plan, commit to it and see it through. PUSH THROUGH WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE CLIENTS. The start up era of your VA business will be the hardest part. Only up from there.
- Willingness to pivot. You have to shift whenever something isn’t working OR shift towards what is working. Also as you and your business grow, you need to keep an open-mind and allow the change.
- Customer support. Retention is HUGE as a virtual assistant, so you want to learn and focus on how to deliver a high-level of client experience.
And so she decided to start living the life she always dreamed.
What tools do you need?
I actually have a whole section of recommendations on the Shop My Favs tab! The essentials I would start with:
- Laptop or computer.
- Wifi/hotspot
- Google Drive (email, docs, workspace, sheets, etc.)
- Instagram/Facebook
- Honeybook (if you were to pay for anything, I would say this)
Why should you get Honeybook?
It’s a client relationship management tool (CRM) that allows you to send proposals, invoices, contracts, scheduling, reminders, automations, etc. Pretty much all of the things you need to run your business consolidated in one place.

How do you actually make money?
You leverage your skills and monetize them. I know, I know. You’ve probably seen this everywhere but what does it actually mean?
Say your skill is organization, espeically when it comes to your inbox. It’s always at zero, you use labels, and it’s the most organized part of your life. MONETIZE THAT!
There are soooo many business owners that do not have the time to go through their emails, respond to everything necessary and keep it all organized. This is a skill that is always needed. Monetize that by offering it as a monthly service, you can even add an add-on of a initial email clean-up. That’s an easy $700/mo to start!
Look at what you’re good at or what you’re passionate about and see if there is a demand, market, or niche that could benefit from your skills as services.
